Working with Poki

Poki is the world's largest web gaming platform, connecting over 100 million monthly active players around the globe. We partner with game developers worldwide to grow their audiences, provide fair monetization opportunities, and ensure every game gets its moment to shine.

As a developer on Poki, you’ll have access to powerful tools, resources, and insights to help you build, test, and refine your games. From streamlined onboarding to in-depth playtesting, from expert QA to dedicated marketing and user acquisition support — our platform handles the busywork of shipping and growing a game, so you can spend your time designing levels, tuning gameplay, and polishing the experience players will love.

In the following sections, we'll guide you through everything from integrating the Poki SDK to optimizing your game for web performance, understanding our revenue model, and taking advantage of the exclusive benefits that come with publishing on Poki.

What you get

Our tools and policies — from QA and marketing support to automated playtesting and fair revenue shares — are built to help you grow.

  • 🧪 Real player data, fast. Playtests and player fit tests let you see how real players interact with your game in just a few hours, giving you crucial insights to test, pivot, and adapt faster than ever.
  • 🔧 Free tools built for web games. Poki provides a variety of game dev tools that can help you optimize and improve your game. These free tools include the Poki Inspector for reviewing your game against Poki's requirements and guidelines, the Poki Networking Library (Netlib) to power online multiplayer games, and the Arbitrary User Data Store (AUDS) for easier backend data storage.
  • ✨ Careful curation. Every game on Poki is hand-picked. We keep daily releases limited, so each game gets a real shot at being seen.
  • 📈 Marketing & user acquisition. We take on marketing, QA, and other traditional publisher roles to help your game succeed.
  • 💰 Fair revenue. If a user comes to your game directly, through bookmarks, search, social media or through your own community, you get 100% of the revenue for that user. If a user comes to your game through Poki.com, or through a marketing effort from Poki, then Poki splits the revenue 50/50 with you, covering the cost of the marketing and user-acquisition effort that brought that player in. In return for that investment, we ask for web exclusivity. That means you can’t publish the same game on other web portals or aggregators — but Steam, app stores, and consoles stay yours; the exclusivity applies to the open web only.
