How we partner with you

If your game is a fit for Poki, we offer you an agreement. There are two flavors: web exclusive and non-exclusive. Here's how they differ and why.

Web exclusive

Our preferred way of working: on the open web, your game is published only on Poki.

Exclusive to Poki, on the web
  • Browser / open web
  • Discord
  • YouTube Playables
Discord and YouTube Playables run HTML5 in a browser, so they count as web.
Yours to publish anywhere
  • Steam
  • Mobile app stores
  • Consoles
Not part of the exclusivity. You keep these platforms.

By default, exclusive deals run for 5 years. In return, Poki invests real time and resources into your game:

  • Marketing and promotion to reach 100M+ players and beyond
  • Monetization through top-tier ad partners and brand deals
  • A revenue share on players Poki brings to your game, through promotions, recommendations, and marketing
  • Everything a player generates when they come to your game directly, through search, bookmarks, social, or your own community, is yours
Good to know The specifics above (the 5-year term, the revenue share, the exact investment) are indicative. The real terms depend on the game and are set out in your agreement.

Why exclusivity?

Exclusivity on the web lets us invest with confidence. We focus our marketing, advertising, and user acquisition on your game, promote it more actively, experiment with placement and campaigns, and optimize its visibility around what players respond to. Without competing web platforms, those learnings translate directly into more players finding and enjoying your game. Exclusivity only applies to the web, so you stay free to publish on non-web platforms like Steam and the app stores.

Non-exclusive

For games already live on other web platforms, or with a more niche or short-term fit for our audience, we can offer a one-time flat license fee instead, with no revenue share. The revenue sharing and marketing investment of exclusive deals doesn't apply here, since the return on that investment is shared with other platforms.
