Monetization overview
Games on Poki earn through in-game ads, served entirely by the Poki SDK. There are no in-app purchases and no third-party ad systems to integrate.
The two ad formats
- Midroll ads run at natural breaks in the session: between levels, after a game over, when leaving a pause. Your game signals opportunities with
commercialBreak(); Poki's system decides when a player is actually ready to see one, so not every call shows an ad. The more natural stops you signal, the better the system can pick its moments. - Rewarded videos are the player's choice: watch an ad, get an in-game benefit. Your game triggers them with
rewardedBreak()on an explicit player action. Rewarded content is always an optional extra and never blocks core gameplay.
Games that support portrait mode also become eligible for Gamebar Display ads, a mobile format in the title bar that earns extra without any work from you. See easy access.
From ad calls to revenue
Every correctly implemented SDK call is a monetization opportunity: Poki fills those moments through top-tier ad partners and brand deals, and your dashboard shows earnings and impression types per day. That's why SDK event correctness is part of QA; misfired events are missed revenue. Implementation details live in the SDK overview.
Where the money goes
How ad revenue translates into your payout depends on your agreement; see revenue & deal types for the model and payouts & billing for the practical side.
